Torbjørn Anderssen과 Espen Voll은 스칸디나비아 디자인계를 선도하는 노르웨이 디자이너다. 두 사람은 각각 Bergen Academy of Art and Design과 Oslo National Academy of Art에서 공부했으며, 2000년 디자인 스튜디오인 Norway Says에서 함께 일하기 시작했다. 이후 가구, 섬유, 조명 디자인 프로젝트팀을 꾸리면서 2009년 가을, 오슬로에 Andersen & Voll studio를 설립했다. A & V은 다양한 디자인 분야를 다루지만, 특히 가정용 오브제에 초점을 맞춘다. 변화무쌍한 문화와 시장의 트렌드를 수용하고 관련 데이터를 기반으로 획기적인 고객 맞춤 제품을 생산하고 있다. 두 디자이너는 특정한 방식에 의해 정의되고 한정되기보다는 사물에 생기를 불어넣는 감성 디자인에 집중하며, 예상치 못한 아이디어를 매개로 새로운 프로젝트를 설계한다. 또한 디자인 전통을 따르는 동시에 혁신적인 솔루션을 적용, 스튜디오의 새로운 발전 방향을 제시하고 있다.  Andersen & Voll은 가구, 조명 및 가정용 액세서리 디자인 업적으로 월페이퍼* 디자인 어워드, 레드 닷 어워드, iF 어워드 등 수많은 국제 어워드에서 수상의 영예를 안았을 뿐 아니라, 올해의 베스트 디자인 및 베스트 디자이너 상을 거머쥐기도 했다. 노르웨이를 세계 디자인 맵에 올리는 데 중요한 역할을 해왔지만, 여전히 Andersen & Voll 은 자유롭고 생동감 넘치는 디자인을 추구하고 있다.

Oslo Sofa는 기하학적인 선으로 등을 감싸는 넓은 소파다. 장난스럽고 볼륨감 넘치는 등받이 라인으로 모든 라운지 환경에서 개성 있는 디자인을 만든다. Anderssen & Voll 디자이너 듀오의 고향인 노르웨이의 수도에서 이름을 따온 이 가구는 온 가족이 둘러 앉을 수 있는 소파에서 사이드 체어에 이르기까지 다양하게 사용할 수 있다.

Light and lyrical aesthetic has been translated into a compact desk intended to suit both office and home spaces. Designed at the start of the pandemic, the Pavilion desk took the demands of home-working into consideration with a version that boasts a back panel.

Pavillion Lounge Chair는 곡선미가 아름다운 베니어 시트부터 팔걸이와 다리를 형성하는 스틸 튜브에 이르기까지 부드러운 라인의 연속적인 흐름으로 구성됐다. 어느 각도에서나 바람이 잘 통하는 라운지 의자로, Pavillion Chair와 비교해 등받이가 유연하고 좌석이 넓어 안락한 휴식을 선사한다.

ARIAKE의 커피 테이블은 순간적인 균형 상태에 있는 사물의 고요함을 매력적으로 풀어낸 작품이다. 단단한 나무다리와 상판은 각각 20mm에서 5mm 두께로, 가늘지만 견고하게 설계됐다. 시각적인 경쾌함을 선사하는 테이블은 지면과 닿는 작은 틈을 통해 빛이 통과하는 구조로 디자인적인 요소를 업그레이드했다.

Located on the castle grounds of Copenhagen’s Kastellet overlooking the waterfront promenade that is home to the Little Mermaid, The Langelinie Pavilion stands with a resilient spirit. The first Pavilion was built in 1885. Echoing its own ability to endure is the Pavilion chair by Andersen & Voll. 


  NEDRE FOSS NUNATAK CANDELABRA ⓒ NEDRE FOSS

A cast iron candelabra. The shape resembles something architectural; like a skyline or a structure of towers, but it brings to mind something organic too; like deer antlers. It also reminds us of geological formations, reflected in the name Nunatak: a hill or mountain completely surrounded by glacial ice. To us, Nunatak sounds like a rhythmical vocal imitation of the shape itself.

Lantern Pendant는 상징적인 형태와 적절한 재료의 산뜻한 조합으로 시선을 사로잡는다. 중국 전통의 종이 램프에서 영감을 받아 디자인했으며, 대담하고 지속적인 형태를 만들어 부드러운 빛을 발산한다. 넓고 개방된 환경에서도 은은한 불빛으로 공간을 밝히고 친밀감을 업그레이드하는 효과가 있다. 


  MENU TROLL VASE ⓒ MENU

The idea behind Troll Vase started as a study of the properties of glass – examining how the intensity of colour changes depending on the thickness of the material. The result is a vase featuring a dynamic change of thickness throughout, from solid coloured base to thin transparent bubble-like top.

Outline Highback Sofa는 1960년대의 고전적인 스칸디나비아 디자인에 새로운 관점을 더해 단순성과 기능을 하나로 결합했다. 강한 실루엣에서 이름을 따온 소파는 깊숙한 시트와 부드러운 쿠션을 조합해 깔끔하고 우아함을 연출한다. Outline 시리즈는 곡선 팔걸이와 함께 전체 윤곽을 나타내는 선으로 클래식하면서도 시대를 초월하는 표현을 가지고 있다. 다양한 크기와 변형에 걸쳐 독특한 인테리어를 제공한다.

The Five Pouf is a versatile, easy-to-use design that is both comfortable and contemporary. With a pentagon shape and linear detailing contrasted against curved edges, the Five Pouf is a unique item that can be used as extra seating or to decorate an unused corner of any room.

Outline Highback Work는 Outline 시리즈의 깊은 좌석과 깔끔하게 정제된 라인을 Highback 기능의 요소와 결합한 가구다. 공간 파티션 구분이 명확하여 작업에 집중할 수 있도록 설계했다. 또한 케이블 콘센트를 연결할 수 있는 수납 공간을 갖추고 있어 전원 접근이 용이한 것이 특징이다. Outline Highback Work는 탁 트인 공간, 접대 장소, 직장 또는 공공장소에 이상적인 신개념 소파다.

A candle stick in cast iron. Ildhane was the first object of the collection at Nedre Foss. The idea of the product was prior to the idea of creating a brand. The conclusions we made after developing Ildhane and the experience of how the object was accepted by very different people in very different contexts, got to define our values and how we communicate our identity.

The seats of classic Shaker chairs are often woven from colorful, woven cotton tape. We have tried to translate this braided expression from a constructive textile surface to a light, soft and decorative blanket.

Saga lounge chair는 작은 의자에서 최상의 편안함을 찾기 위한 노력의 결과다. 미니멀한 사이즈의 라운지 의자는 좁은 공간에도 알맞게 배치할 수 있고, 등받이에 비해 넓어 보이는 좌석으로 시각적인 안정감을 부여한다. 노르웨이어로 Saga라는 말은 북방의 고대 이야기를 뜻한다. 디자이너는 일본 사가현의 새로운 이야기를 담아 디자인을 풀어냈다.

Scandinavian mid-century design aesthetics and Brazilian Modernism meet on the low-lying Brasilia Lounge Chair, designed for MENU by Anderssen & Voll. Characterised by its stout and sturdy legs, made using traditional joinery techniques, and exaggerated armrests and cushioning seat and backrest, upholstered in a range of soft fabrics, it creates a sense of comfort and ease in any setting.
